According to philosophy, universal life force manifests as three different energies, or doshas, known as vata, pitta, and kapha.

VATA : Healthy vata hair is typically thin, coarse, can be a combo of curly or straight, grows quickly so it can be a bit unruly to style. 

PITTA: Healthy pita hair is straight, typically soft , fine and easily manageable.

KAPHA: Healthy kapha hair is very strong, thick, and typically very coarse and lustrous.

In Ayurveda, skin is considered a manifestation of inner health. Our skin is our largest organ and what we apply on it is absorbed to a far greater extent than most of us realize.

VATA skin type is ruled by the elements air & ether. When healthy this skin type is dry, uneven toned, prone to fine lines & wrinkles. Vata skin typically has a thin texture with fine pores. 

PITTA skin is typically soft, very oily, and fair with a warm complexion. Medium-thick, this type of skin type is more prone to rashes, acne, and sores when experiencing an imbalance.

KAPHA skin type is typically oily, dull, thick, has a tendency of enlarged pores, eczema, rosacia etc when imbalanced. Because of the excess oil in this skin type, it attracts the most impurities from the environment. This skin type needs regular detoxification.
